Saliency Detection for Estimating the Task-driven Eye-movement

چکیده
We propose a saliency model to estimate the task-driven eyemovement. Human eye movement patterns is affected by observer’s task and mental state[1]. However, the existing saliency model are detected from the low-level image features such as bright regions, edges, colors, etc., In this paper, the tasks(e.g., evaluation of a piano performance) are given to the observer who is watching the music videos. Unlike existing visual-based methods, we use score features and image features to detect a saliency. We show that our saliency model outperforms existing models that use eye movement patterns.

متن کاملJust Noticeable Difference Estimation Using Visual Saliency in Images
Due to some physiological and physical limitations in the brain and the eye, the human visual system (HVS) is unable to perceive some changes in the visual signal whose range is lower than a certain threshold so-called just-noticeable distortion (JND) threshold. Visual attention (VA) provides a mechanism for selection of particular aspects of a visual scene so as to reduce the computational loa...
متن کاملSaliency and Task-Based Eye Movement Prediction and Guidance
The ability to predict and guide viewer attention has important applications in computer graphics, image and scene understanding, object detection, visual search and training. Human eye movements have interested researchers as they provide insight into the cognitive processes involved in task performance. It has also interested researchers to understand what guides viewer attention in a scene. ...
متن کاملTask-demands can immediately reverse the effects of sensory-driven saliency in complex visual stimuli.
In natural vision both stimulus features and task-demands affect an observer's attention. However, the relationship between sensory-driven ("bottom-up") and task-dependent ("top-down") factors remains controversial: Can task-demands counteract strong sensory signals fully, quickly, and irrespective of bottom-up features? To measure attention under naturalistic conditions, we recorded eye-moveme...
متن کاملVisual saliency detection with center shift
This paper proposes a novel method for visual saliency detection based on an universal probabilistic model, which measures the saliency by combining low level features and location prior. We view the task of estimating visual saliency as searching the most conspicuous parts in an image and extract the saliency map by computing the dissimilarity between different regions. We simulate the moving ...
